It has been a heck of a year so far.
I’ve been running around trying to situate myself in terms of career/education. By the grace of the good Lord, it seems this might be the last week of chaos for some time. That said, the spring of creativity that flowed forth was borne by stress. My best writing (and reading) happens when I’m supposed to be doing other things like packing or working. In other words, no new serials will arrive until October. I will stick with the already existing catalogue.
Scheduling
I am back to work which means I must strictly adhere to a two posts a week maximum! On Monday, I will continue to alternate between Shades of Night Anthology and Stoney Hollow. I’m excited to return to John and Eleanor.
Wednesday will remain for blogging. In addition, I will be sharing art of the week at the bottom of my Wednesday posts (see below).
“Shades of Night”
Shades of Night is going through yet another (albeit smaller) transformation. I’m chipping away at that silly slab of marble.
It struck me how deep we can dive into this world together! This newsletter has provided me the amazing opportunity to share backstories to characters and nations’ histories that—although the book touches on—I had to scrap for time. It feels lovely to share them and the love for writing with a community.
Thank you to each and every subscriber who opens and reads this newsletter. This is shaping up to be a wonderful journey.
Much love,
Maya
