Hello all!
As promised, this will be the sole blog post for the month! I hope that November finds you happy and healthy. We’ve got a lot to get through today. Don’t worry! I’ll keep it quick and to the point.
This newsletter is broken down into three sections:
Announcement of and trailer for the new series,
writing blog,
and housekeeping.
Winter Series: “A Town Called Evening”
When approached by an out-of-town couple searching for their missing daughter, dedicated Deputy Luke Gatelin follows the trail to a Montana town called Evening where he discovers a family who have been preying on young women for a very, very long time.

I have a little flair for the dramatic, as you can see. Hopefully, your interest is piqued.

Writing Blog
Shades of Night Anthology is drawing to a close. As of now, there are only one (maybe two) episode(s) left. For those who are new, Shades of Night is my upcoming novel. I’d like to self-publish next year depending on how lucky I get with time.
It’s my very first series, thank you so much for being here for all of it.
I’m very, very lucky. The anthology has taught me a lot about what I want this novel to be.
As this is my very first book, I’ve come to understand the layers of editing. It goes something like this:
You write the plot A-Z.
You fix the plot as you begin understand your characters as complex human-beings.
You hate the book,
cry, scrap it, and begin again from memory. You make a Pinterest board and playlist, as well as waste time talking about writing it rather than writing it.
You finally write it.
You give it to a group to critique.
You take into account their feedback,
cry again, and edit the manuscript once more.At last, you give it to a beta reader group
You finally fix it.
Now you can take your time and add some ✨ style ✨
That’s been my experience.
Hasty Housekeeping
Please be assured that Stoney Hollow is on a hiatus, but shall be continued soon. I’ve hit a writers’ block ( a writers’ ebb as a wise woman once said) and I don’t want to publish something half baked. My characters deserve better and so do you!
Keep an eye out for the finale of Shades of Night Anthology this month and A Town Called Evening this December!
I’ve opened a chat thread to my readers so that we can talk about the fantasy genre! It’s free for all subscribers at the moment. Right now, we’re moving through an encyclopaedia of King Arthur. If you’re interested in joining and interacting, why don’t you download the app?
Alternatively, you can follow my A-Z of King Arthur on my brand new Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/feederofravens/
The longer discussions, however, will occur on Substack.
Thank you so much for reading. I really appreciate your time and attention. Words cannot express how appreciative I am for ever single reader here. I hope that I can continue to deliver high quality fiction for you guys to enjoy.
Kindly,
Maya
I'm super excited for A Town Called Evening!
Love the trailer. Well done!
