My thought process is like a bullet train with hundreds of railroad tributaries. At any given moment, a lever can be pulled and the direction changes while maintaining its speed. My passions and interest follow this movement. One moment, I’m obsessed with UFC the next I’m ingesting Internet culture and spitting out small articles about its impact on the real world.

This same view applies to my writing. I cycle through my stories and—-as seasons, interests, and age change—-I find myself juggling various titles like a fry cook at an understaffed Chick-fil-A during lunch hour.
Sticking to a book requires a level of discipline that does not come naturally. I will place a book aside until the leaves fall just right in the autumn. During the construction phase of writing, I’m less likely to force myself to work. When it comes to creativity, no amount of discipline can jump-start a good idea.
Enough about me. I’m getting a little sick of these posts explaining my psychology during my writing process. Let’s talk about something infinitely more interesting: stories!
I’d like to release another excerpt from a book as my monthly snippet. I think it might be fun to not share a thing about its genre and let people guess. What do you think?
I love the idea about guessing the genre! Who knows what it could be??
Sometimes my creative side pushes the constructive side right out of the way, and a piece takes on a life of its own.
